Wayne Mote, Varsity Boys Coach
My name is Wayne Mote. My wife, Lori, and I have been married for 22 years and we have four teenage children, Kirk 19, Clay 17, Joy 15, and John David 15. We are both native Georgians and currently live in Loganville, GA. I was a three sport letterman (Football, Basketball and Track) at Villa Rica High School, and a four year letterman at Ga Tech in Football (1984 to 1988). I have been actively involved in sports (playing or coaching) for 40 years. I have coached sports for the last 17 years in Football (Kicking Camps at Ga Tech, Walton County Recreation, Georgia Force Home School), Track (Lay Coach at South Gwinnett), Basketball (SGAA, and Walton County Recreation, and Gwinnett Barons), Baseball (SGAA and Walton County Recreation), and Soccer (City of Snellville Recreation) having led about 30 teams. My wife and I have taught Sunday School for students for 20 years. I believe that team sports allow the individual to start from wherever they are as a person, set a course, and then work to accomplish more than they could ever have imagined. My philosophy includes providing an environment that will allow the student-athlete to pursue the next level of competition if they so desire. I truly enjoy the privilege of leading students and athletes in their physical, mental, and social growth, and most importantly, in their walk with Jesus.
Here is my challenge:
How would you like to be a part of a pursuit that will challenge your mind, will, and emotions? Come join our team and find out how impacting and rewarding six months of training and competition will have on the rest of your life. We will work hard and take on life experiences through the sport of basketball. Please be warned that expectations are high and not for the faint of heart. You will be challenged. We will actively pursue character qualities based on the biblical principles of hard work, sacrifice, sportsmanship, and humility. We will prepare in such a way as to WIN.
